Communication, Literacy & Education for Agricultural Research - CLEAR
The CLEAR Project, originally funded by the UC Global Food Initiative, welcomes undergrad, grad and postdoctoral members from numerous departments at UC Berkeley. Members interact with the public in many different in-person and virtual venues, including the Farmers’ Market, zoos, bars and other community events. The goal of CLEAR is to find more effective ways to communicate information, grounded in scientific evidence, about agriculture, food and science in general. There is also a sister organizations at UC Davis, Science Says.
On the Campus
CLEAR Fellows organize roundtable discussions & talks by outside speakers for the campus community.
In the Classroom
CLEAR Fellows are invited into high school classrooms to engage in interactive lessons about biotechnology.
In the Capital
CLEAR Fellows engage in legislative matters at the local, state and federal levels through visits, calls, emails, and tweets to legislators.
In the Community
CLEAR Fellows participate in activities off campus, such as talking about science at public events.
